I don't understand the point of those super hard kevlar heads. They sound terrible to me. I haven't played in drum corps but I have hit those snares and they kill my ears just tapping them.

he was great . . . but he chowed a couple of backsticks at the end there . . . i should be a DCI judge!

when i did drum corps, individuals is what i lived for. practicing on the pad on the bus late at night, night after night. practicing on lunch break and at the bus after shows. if you were good you could pick up guard chics at the bus with a happenin solo.

i am gonna go out on a limb and say that the 1 handed roll he was doing for a few seconds, I WAS THE FIRST TO DO THAT FOR A DCI JUDGE in 1990 and again in 91 (was 3rd in 91). now that trick is everywhere!!! Johnny Rabb (where has he gone) showcased that trick in a 1998 instructional video, but i had it down 8 years earlier and i dare say it made the rounds in drum corps AFTER i played it 2 years in a row at DCI individuals at a time when DCI had not seen that trick before. to bad i still suck.
